La semiautobiográfica cinta de Seteven Spielberg obtuvo 11 nominaciones a los premios de los críticos estadounidenses.
Los críticos estadounidenses de la Broadcast Film Critics Association nominaron este miércoles en sus premios anuales, los Critics Choice, a tres películas de creadores iberoamericanos, Argentina, 1985, de Santiago Mitre; Bardo, falsa crónica de unas cuantas verdades, de Alejandro González Iñárritu, y Pinocho, de Guillermo del Toro / Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio. Las dos primeras competirán entre sí por el galardón a mejor cinta en lengua no inglesa, y la de "Memo" del Toro a mejor película de animación.
Con 14 nominaciones, cinco de ellas para actores, Todo a la vez en todas partes / Everything Everywhere All at Once suma la mayor cantidad de candidaturas en esta 28 edición de los Critics Choice Awards, seguida por The Fabelmans, de Steven Spielberg, con 11, y Babylon, de Damien Chazelle, con 10.
The Banshees of Inisherin, de Martin McDonagh, la favorita por número de candidaturas en los Globos de Oro, esta misma semana, se tuvo que conformar aquí con 9.
Serán 11 las películas que pugnen por el título a mejor del año para los críticos de medios audiovisuales: Avatar: The Way of Water, de James Cameron; Elvis, de Baz Luhrmann; Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, de Rian Johnson; RRR, de S. S. Rajamouli; Tár, de Todd Field; Women Talking, de Sarah Polley; Top Gun: Maverick, de Joseph Kosinski, y las antes citadas Everything Everywhere All at Once, de Daniel Kwan y Daniel Scheinert; The Fabelmans, de Steven Spielberg; Babylon, de Damien Chazelle, y The Banshees of Inisherin, de Martin McDonagh.
A diferencia de las candidaturas a los Globos de Oro, ningún intérprete latino ha sido elegido por la Broadcast Film Critics Association.
"Estamos muy orgullosos de reconocer a este increíble grupo de películas y a las personas que las hicieron posibles", dijo Joey Berlin, director ejecutivo de Critics Choice Association. "Este reconocimiento proviene de un grupo diverso de más de 600 críticos y reporteros de entretenimiento que comparten sus opiniones sobre cine y televisión con millones de personas todos los días, durante todo el año. Nuestra opinión colectiva sobre los mejores logros del año es verdaderamente significativa para la comunidad creativa", añadió.
La gala de entrega tendrá lugar en el Fairmont Century Plaza de Los Angeles el domingo 15 de enero.
